Lovely.

We used to do location drawing when I was studying for my BA in Illustration in London. We all took a trip to London Zoo.

I went to the giraffe enclosure and sat there drawing for a good chunk of the day (this was many MANY moons ago so I don't have any of the drawings from that expedition... near enough ten years ago)... and anyway, after a while, the staff there asked if I'd like to get into the enclosure and feed the giraffes.

They are HUGE! This grandaddy giraffe they had, his head was the size of a motorcycle sidecar. I remember looking straight up as his head craned down from some fifteen feet up to look me in the eye. The attendant stood nearby said "he's not got very good eyesight so he's just taking a closer look". The giraffe's head hovered over mine for a few moments, then snorted (like horses do) and reared back up having probably realised I didn't have any food.

Amazing animals.
